Crawler crane is a self-propelled crane equipped with tracks for movement within a construction site. To move the machine, a hydrostatic transmission chain is used: Hydraulic motor - Planetary gearbox. To rotate the tower in the rotation mechanism, a special planetary gearbox is used on a crawler crane. A hydrostatic winch unit is also used.
Gearbox for a crane
Gearboxes used on lifting winches are characterized by high load capacity and resistance to large static loads. For a more reliable connection of the gearbox to the drum, all shaft elements are most often made in the form of a gear coupling. This provides exceptional wear resistance while ensuring stable lifting performance of the crawler crane.
The main task of the gearbox for a crane is to convert the speed of rotation of the shaft, as well as transfer low speeds from the internal combustion engine to the direct components. The main criteria of a reduction gearbox are efficiency, gear ratio, number of stages, torque and power. Explosion-proof design, the ability to absorb vibrations and operation with a minimum level of noise pollution are also important.
Despite the high quality of workmanship, over time such gearboxes fail and require replacement. When purchasing a new element, you should pay attention to its characteristics, which must match the specifications of the crawler crane used. Taking into account the high physical load, you should purchase only gearboxes that are characterized by reliability and high quality workmanship.
