Compact Drives – For Plug-In or Cartridge-Style Motors

Compact Drives are typically used in conjunction with a plug-in or cartridge-style motor in order to provide increased power density. One by-product of the cartridge motor design is larger tapered roller bearings as compared to a conventional wheel drive. As part of the motor is buried into the drive this requires the bearing cavity to grow in diameter, thus achieving greater radial load capacity. Compact Drives are common in various wheeled applications as well as track drives.
